NFL Thoughts: Week 10
- Thankfully, great news on Saints cornerback Tracy Porter. He’s not out for the year! The injury to his knee was less severe than initially thought. Hopefully he’ll be back for the stretch run.
- I feel for Steven Jackson – you hate to see great players stuck on horrible teams. His career might be over before the Rams are winning again.
- The Bills fired Dick Jauron - my question was why they ever hired him. He was a flop in Chicago.
- You think Lovie Smith will get the ax if the Bears don’t turn things around? It doesn’t get much uglier than their loss to the 49ers last Thursday. I always felt like they were a wing and a prayer team under Smith. They generated so many turnovers and special teams touchdowns, and that’s how they won games. You can’t do that forever. Jay Cutler hasn’t been that good, but he also needs some help.
- Way to go Bud Adams, now Tom Benson’s past behavior is just a memory!
- The Bengals impress me more each week. That defense is something special. Bringing in Larry Johnson might not be the best move, however.
- Thank you, Carolina Panthers! You beat the Falcons, and now the Saints have a 4 game lead in the NFC South.
- Don’t look now, but the Jaguars are making a little noise. Not a lot, just a little…
- And now it’s time for some Cowboys related controversy. After all, they did lose.
- The Eagles took a step back in San Diego. I picked them as an 8-8 team this year and right now it looks like they can beat anybody and lose to anybody.
- Do I really need to weigh in on Bill Belichick’s wacky decision to go for it on 4th and 2 from his own 28, with a lead? Yes, I could see Sean Payton making that call at one time. But the Pats are supposed to be a team that can rely on its defense. That’s not showing a lot of faith in that side of the ball.
- I do feel bad for Browns fans. Not sure what the answer is in Cleveland…
