Saints Announce Cuts

Read about it right here.  This is always tough because every year at least a few guys with real potential have to be let go.  It’s just how tough it is to make the final 53 man roster.

It will be especially tough to lose receiver Adrian Arrington and defensive tackle DeMario Pressley, as they were both 2008 draft picks who spent last year on injured reserve.  Both have shown some talent, but also some injury troubles that didn’t allow them to fully participate.

Tight end Billy Miller was placed on injured reserve and will get surgery on his Achilles tendon.  Fourth round draft pick Chip Vaughn, a safety, will also spend the year on IR.

In other news, it looks like the Saints have added tight end David Thomas via a trade with New England.

Also, strangely enough defensive ends Will Smith and Charles Grant haven’t yet been suspended.  Could they play against Detroit next week?
